A candidate’s personality can be used to predict success in job performance. However, since success in different jobs may require different personality attributes, it is necessary to know the requirements of the specific job you are trying to predict the candidate’s success in.
To know the job requirements and decide which personality attributes are important for success in that job, EasyTalent can take as input the organization’s Job Analysis data. However, by default, EasyTalent uses the O*NET database, which has an extensive job analysis of over 900 jobs.
Job Work Styles: Each job in the database has 16 work styles and each work style is rated according to its importance for success in job performance. Work styles are personal characteristics that can affect how well the someone performs a job. (O*NET uses the term work style rather than personality to emphasize personal characteristics that are job related).

If a candidate’s personality (which is obtained by EasyTalent’s personality rating instrument) is aligned positively with the work styles that are important for success in that job, one can predict that the candidate would perform successfully.
To help predict a candidate’s success in the job, EasyTalent uses its algorithm to automatically map the candidate’s personality to the O*NET work styles for the job. It does this by quantifying how closely each of the candidate’s five personality dimensions (conscientiousness, openness, extraversion, agreeableness and emotional stability) aligns with each of the 16 work styles associated with that job. The closer the alignment, better is the success factor.
